I'm undertaking an environmental assessment at land at the west of Longford Lane near the village of Church Broughton, approximately 13km west of Derby (Site Plan attached).

For the above site I am enquiring if South Derbyshire District Council Environmental Health Department can provide me with any information you may have on the following:

1. Confirm if the site is considered to be captured under Part II of the EPA, or is on the Council's contaminated land register.

2. Records of any contaminative uses on the site or on land adjacent to the site.

3. Records of any confirmed contamination on the site (type of contamination, severity of contamination, date of occurrence, any remediation works that have taken place).

4. Records of any made ground, infilled ground or landfills on the site (type of made ground or infill, dates of when infilling took place, if landfill gas is a concern).

5. Records of any confirmed pollution incidences on the site (type, impacted receptor, date, severity any remedial action).

6. Any records of ground settlement.

7. Any records of type of foundations on the site.

8. Any records regarding the drainage on site, particularly the surface water drainage (presence of interceptors, sumps, any drainage problems flooding or groundwater problems).

9. Any complaints regarding the site due to odour, noise, nuisance.

10. Any records of buried fuel tanks on the site, if so any information regarding the age, size, number capacity, in use or decommissioned.

11. Any records of archaeology on the site, or any entries on the sites and monuments record.

Response

 

  1. Confirm if the site is considered to be captured under Part II of the EPA, or is on the Council's contaminated land register. It is not considered contaminated. An area of unknown filled ground is highlighted on the northwest boundary, classified medium risk.

  2. Records of any contaminative uses on the site or on land adjacent to the site. Manufacture of clay bricks and tiles on site, highlighted in 1890 and 1901 mapping records.

  3. Records of any confirmed contamination on the site (type of contamination, severity of contamination, date of occurrence, any remediation works that have taken place). No records are held by the Council.

  4. Records of any made ground, infilled ground or landfills on the site (type of made ground or infill, dates of when infilling took place, if landfill gas is a concern). See above response (1), highlighted in 1996 mapping record.

  5. Records of any confirmed pollution incidences on the site (type, impacted receptor, date, severity any remedial action). No records are held by the Council.

  6. Any records of ground settlement. No records are held by the Council.

  7. Any records of type of foundations on the site. No records are held by the Council.

  8. Any records regarding the drainage on site, particularly the surface water drainage (presence of interceptors, sumps, any drainage problems flooding or groundwater problems). No records are held by the Council.
