Q1:         Did your council commission external consultants/advisers to work on and/or produce your local government reorganisation or joint council submission to the MHCLG for 21st March 2025?

 

A1:         The eight Derbyshire district and borough councils and Derby City Council jointly commissioned external advisors to support the development of local government reorganisation proposals.

 

Q2:         If so, who were the consultants/advisors, and how much did it cost up to and including 21st March 2025?

 

A2:         KPMG - £9,375 (South Derbyshire District Council contribution)

 

Q3:         Has your council allocated or estimated future expenditure to pay external consultants/advisers to work on your/joint council reorganisation proposals? If so, how much and over what timeframe?

 

A3:         As part of the 2025/26 budget setting and decision making process, we have earmarked up to £50,000 to fund the costs of developing reorganisation proposals to meet the Government’s submission deadline of 28.11.25.

 

Q4:         What is your projected expenditure to reorganise into a new local authority based on your submission or joint council submission to MHCLG?

 

A4:         We do not currently hold this information. It is too early in the process to determine this.
