The total annual cost to the Council for providing Regulation 10 fire door inspection/check services is just over £11,000. The cost per door is £27.75.
Communal doors are inspected by the Compliance Manager and the Health and Safety Advisor, who are both qualified, on a six-monthly basis. The costs for these are negligible.

This function is carried out by the Councils trained inhouse team, who as part of their weekly and monthly checks undertake the emergency lighting flick tests. With this function being carried out by internal staff as part of wider compliance and safety checks, the costs are negligible.
An external contractor carries out an annual service, and the compliance team also undertake audits to ensure the flick tests are carried out to satisfaction.
